Spacebar & Thumb Usage

Treat spaces as part of the text, not as a pause between typing movements.

Use the thumb group

The shared KeyTute guide assigns Space to the thumb group without forcing a left or right thumb. Choose a comfortable, repeatable motion that lets the other fingers stay oriented to their home keys.

Read word boundaries

A missing or extra space can change how words are evaluated. Copy the source spacing deliberately rather than pressing Space whenever you hesitate.

Practise steady transitions

Use a few short words with spaces between them. Aim for a smooth transition from the final letter to Space and from Space to the first letter of the next word.

Keep line breaks separate

Space and Enter are different inputs. Follow the source format and the activity instructions. The shared guide assigns Enter to the right pinky rather than to the thumb group.
