Why Typing Errors Happen
Separate movement errors from reading and formatting mistakes.
Wrong-key reaches
If a nearby key appears repeatedly, check the assigned finger and the return to the home position. Practise the reach before increasing the pace.
Reading-position errors
Missing or repeating a word may come from losing your place rather than from finger placement. Read a small phrase at a time and check the source boundary when you resume after a pause.
Formatting errors
Spaces, capitals and punctuation are part of copied text. Notice whether the source asks for a line break, a repeated letter or a shifted symbol.
Rushed recovery
After one mistake, it is easy to rush the next sequence. Reset your attention before continuing. A controlled recovery can prevent one error from becoming several unrelated ones.
