Backspace and Corrections in Exam Practice

Know the fixed common-set rule and the Backspace choice available for custom text.

Common sets allow corrections

All 20 common English sets allow Backspace and full corrections. They share the same input rules; choosing a different set does not introduce a deletion limit or penalty setting.

Choose the custom correction rule

Custom Exam Typing offers Allowed or Not allowed for Backspace and corrections. Choose before starting and read the entry instructions. There is no separate limited-deletion or current-word-only option on the custom form.

Paste the source before the test

Pasting is allowed on the custom setup form to prepare your source passage. Pasting into the active typing area is blocked for both common and custom tests. Do not use drag-and-drop or browser undo to bypass the typing rules.

Complete the timed attempt

Pause and restart are disabled for common and custom tests. The timer starts immediately when the window opens and the test submits at time end. Confirmed early exit records an incomplete attempt.
