Short vs Long Typing Sessions
Choose a duration that answers the question you are testing.
Use short sessions for focus
A short session can isolate a key pattern or provide a quick check of a familiar task. It can also be influenced heavily by a brief burst, so compare several results.
Use longer sessions for steadiness
A longer passage asks you to maintain attention and reading position through more text. Its result is not directly interchangeable with a short word drill.
Build duration gradually
When moving to longer text, keep the difficulty familiar first. Let your pace settle rather than trying to hold your fastest short-session rhythm throughout.
Record the context
Note the duration, content type and correction rules beside a result. A useful comparison includes the conditions that produced the number, not just the WPM value.
Put the guide into practice
Choose one focus for your next session.
